Position Summary

We are recruiting a building operator to complement our team. This position will work closely with the senior building operator and will be required to run the building during the absence of the senior building operator. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in expanding their knowledge and wishing to transition to a senior role in the future.

 

Key Responsibilities

           

  • Perform predictive and preventive maintenance
  • Identify and rectify general maintenance issues
  • Respond to tenant requests; complete work orders in a timely manner
  • Water treatment, replacement of filters, light and ballast replacements
  • Basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical and appliance repairs
  • Liase with contractors to obtain quotations and to ensure work is completed in compliance with building rules and regulations
  • Assist in preparation of suites during and at month end for resident move ins/outs
  • Prioritize and schedule all work to meet deadlines in an efficient and timely manner
  • Respond to emergency after hours calls and be available to participate in the on call rotation (approximately one week every eight weeks)
  • Perform other duties as assigned, or required

   

Required Skills & Abilities

  • A minimum four years’ relevant experience
  • Minimum 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, building automation systems, plumbing and preventive maintenance
  • Knowledge of Honeywell and Siemens DDC systems an asset
  • Swimming pool maintenance an asset
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, smart phone aptitude
  • Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s license and be available for on call approximately one week every eight weeks
  • Must be physically fit with the ability to lift, carry or move heavy items
  • Security clearance required upon offer of employment
