Position Summary

As a key member of the property management team, the Leasing Agent will perform a wide variety of administrative and leasing duties to assist the Community Manager in the execution of his/her duties. Tasks will include responding to leasing inquiries, updating vacancy and traffic reports, performing inspections, assisting in the resident renewal process and other duties as assigned by the Community Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and qualify customers on the phone or in person with the view that the end result will be a new resident.
  • Answer phone calls, and respond to email and walk-in rental inquiries.
  • Process applications for prospective residents; ensuring credit information, landlord and employer references are correct and complete.
  • Schedule and complete suite showings with prospective residents.
  • Enter and set-up guests and new residents in a database.
  • Prepare move-in files and ensure all appropriate documents, cards and keys are enclosed.
  • Schedule and complete move-in and move-out inspections with residents
  • Perform annual inspections of town-homes as required.
  • Assist the Community Manager in administrative tasks as required (security deposits, leases).
  • Provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders.
  • Ensure signage is properly displayed and property aesthetics are in good order.
  • Ensure compliance with the Residential Tenancies Act in all procedures.
  • Execute all work in a safe, professional manner in compliance with OH&S.
  • Ensure local, provincial and federal laws and regulations are being observed within the community.
  • Ensure comprehension and compliance with all Westcorp Playbook policies.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Community Manager.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • High school graduate; Post-secondary education is an asset
  • Two years relevant experience in sales, leasing and/or customer service is preferred
  • Must be available as required to work irregular hours including evenings/weekend shifts
  • Strong aptitude for sales and customer service
  • Strong inter-personal and organizational skills
  • Exceptional communication ability, both written and verbal
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Must be flexible and willing to change roles or responsibilities as required
  • High degree of professionalism and dedication toward all stakeholders
  • Security clearance required upon offer of employment
  • Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s license
  • Possess sensational customer service philosophy
  • Highly organized, results oriented and ability to work in a multi-functional team environment
