Position Summary

The Camp Groundskeeper position is primarily responsible for performing a wide variety of duties including grounds upkeep, pool cleaning and balancing, maintaining washroom cleanliness, and processing campsite reservations, all with a strong focus on customer service.

 

This position is a seasonal position, with part time hours in off-season (March, April and September) and full time hours in peak season (May to August).

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleaning: maintaining exceptional cleanliness of the laundry room and camp bathrooms each day.
  • Groundskeeping: preparing camp sites for check-in, maintaining grounds cleanliness balancing chemicals), keeping accurate chemical logs, sorting recycling and bottles, waste removal, watering flowers, tree pruning, leaf-blowing, mowing, weed whacking and weeding.
  • Office Responsibilities (Minimal in Peak Season): answering phone and email inquiries, taking reservations, cash handling, operating cash register, providing high customer service, completing daily logs, recording monthly utility meter reads, responding to rental inquiries for the Mobile Home Park, completing any additional duties as assigned by Property Manager.
  • Adhere to and ensure compliance with all Health and Safety standards and legislation guidelines.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Relevant grounds-keeping or landscaping experience preferred by not necessary
  • High school graduate
  • Valid driver's license an asset
  • Physically capable of handling grounds-keeping equipment and working outdoors for extending periods through the spring and summer months
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving items up to 50 lbs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Detail-Oriented
  • Highly self-motivated and able to take initiative without persistent supervision
  • Possess sensational customer service philosophy
  • Highly organized, results oriented and able to work in a multi-functional team environment
  • Willingness to take on additional roles or responsibilities as required by the Property Manager
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Appearance must be neat, clean and professional
  • Must be available to work irregular work hours including weekends and holidays
  • Security clearance required upon offer of employment
