Position Summary

As an integral member of the team, the Junior Leasing Consultant assists in developing and implementing diversified and innovative leasing strategies for the community. This role aims to maximize value by providing industry leading customer service to current and potential customers. The Junior Leasing Consultant will strive to realize efficiencies and ensure first class facilities are provided to all customers. Hours will be irregular to accommodate operating hours and will include weekends and holidays. In addition, this role provides administrative and reception support for the leasing team. This position may require some extra hours from time to time particularly at month end.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers on the phone or in person with the view that the end result will be a new resident.
  • Scheduling viewing appointments.
  • Aim to enhance overall customer satisfaction and experience.
  • Lease suites with specific leasing goals in mind.
  • Ensure that prospective resident applications are completed correctly and in full.
  • Administrative functions to ensure prospective resident applications are completed correctly and in full.

  • Oversee the signing of leases.
  • Assist in move-in/move-out inspections with residents.
  • Maintain a database of contact information in YARDI.
  • Ensure that the Sales Centre is always to Westcorp standards.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Complete traffic reports, vacancy reports and related paperwork as required by the Regional Leasing Manager.
  • Utilize follow-up programs (i.e. thank you cards, calls, etc.).
  • Participate in on-going sales training to improve sales techniques.
  • Report deficiencies in market ready suites and in the building to the Regional Leasing Manager.
  • Visit competitive properties to stay informed on market conditions and complete monthly competitor comparisons.
  • Ensure local, provincial, & federal laws and regulations are being observed at the community.
  • Execute all work in a safe, professional manner in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Ensure comprehension and compliance with all Westcorp Playbook policies.
  • Administrative duties as required, including leasing office coverage.
  • Complete other duties as required and assigned by the Leasing Manager/Lead.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • High school graduate; Post-Secondary education an asset
  • 1 - 3 years relevant reception experience in a busy office environment
  • Appearance must be neat, clean and professional
  • Knowledge and use of general office equipment including telephone/switchboard experience
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • High degree of professionalism and dedication to self, co-workers and clients
  • Strong inter-personal and analytical skills
  • Exceptional communication ability; written and verbal
  • Candidate must be flexible and willing to adapt to changing priorities, as required
  • Possess sensational customer service philosophy
  • Security clearance required upon offer of employment
  • Highly organized, results oriented and ability to work in a multi-functional team environment
