  • Position Summary

    This is a full-time position for an in-house painter in the residential property management industry. In collaboration with the maintenance and renovation team members, the painting team member performs a wide variety of duties in the coordination and delivery of market ready rental suites, common areas and projects in a timely manner and within scope and budget. As an integral member of the Westcorp team, this position will ensure industry leading levels of quality work and customer service are provided to all customers in our facilities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Properly and professionally preparing surfaces for painting by removing old paint, priming surfaces, sanding, and filling, choosing materials, selecting and mixing colors and cleaning up job sites.
    • Paint surfaces using brushes, spray gun or paint rollers.
    • Graffiti removal from the interior and exterior of buildings.
    • Assist the maintenance team with all aspects of suite renovations as required which will include, but are not limited to, building, framing, taping and finishing of walls and project clean up.
    • Attend regular community meetings and stay informed of on-site initiatives and programs.
    • Execute all work in a safe and professional manner and in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation guidelines.
    • Ensure comprehension and compliance with all Westcorp Property Management Inc. playbook policies.  
    • Ensure the adherence to all policies and procedures.
    • Other duties as required and assigned by the Community Manager.

    Required Skills & Abilities

    • High School Graduate; Post-Secondary Education an asset.
    • Must have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a professional painting environment.
    • Knowledge of equipment, materials, methods and practices used for interior and exterior applications required.
    • Experience in finishing carpentry, wood finishing/staining and renovations an asset.
    • Must be available to work extra hours as they may vary for high season and month end.
    • Must have proficient English written and verbal communication abilities.
    • Must be physically fit with the ability to lift, carry or move heavy items.
    • Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • High degree of professionalism and dedication as well as a passion to deliver sensational customer service to all stakeholders.
    • Must be personable and have a positive, energetic attitude.
    • Must be flexible and willing to change roles or responsibilities as required.
    • Appearance must be neat, clean and professional.
    • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
    • Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s license.
    • Security clearance required upon offer of employment.
    • Highly organized, results oriented and ability to work in a multi-functional team environment.
