  • Position Summary

    As an integral member of the team, the Leasing Consultant assists in developing and implementing diversified and innovative leasing strategies for the community. This role aims to maximize value by providing industry leading customer service to current and potential customers. The Leasing Consultant will strive to realize efficiencies and ensure first class facilities are provided to all customers. Hours will be irregular to accommodate operating hours and will include weekends and holidays.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Greet and qualify customers on the phone or in person with the view that the end result will be a new resident.
    • Lease suites with specific leasing goals in mind.
    • Ensure that prospective resident applications are completed correctly and in full.
    • Oversee the signing of leases.
    • Complete move-in/move-out inspections with residents.
    • Maintain a database of contact information in YARDI.
    • Enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
    • Complete traffic reports, vacancy reports and related paperwork as required by the Leasing Team Lead.
    • Utilize follow-up programs (i.e. thank you cards, calls, etc.)
    • Participate in on-going sales training to improve sales techniques.
    • Report deficiencies in market ready suites and in the building to the Leasing Team Lead.
    • Visit competitive properties to stay informed on market conditions and complete monthly competitor comparisons.
    • Ensure local, provincial, & federal laws and regulations are being observed at the community.
    • Execute all work in a safe, professional manner in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation.
    • Ensure comprehension and compliance with all Westcorp Playbook policies.
    • Complete other duties as required and assigned by the Leasing Team Lead.

    Required Skills & Abilities

    • High School Graduate; Post-Secondary Education an asset
    • Extremely strong aptitude for sales and customer service
    • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
    • Knowledge of YARDI and/or SharePoint is an asset
    • Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills
    • Exceptional communication ability, written and verbal
    • High degree of professionalism and dedication to all stakeholders
    • Candidate must have excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work
    • Must be flexible and adaptable to meet responsibilities as required
    • Appearance must be neat, clean and professional
    • Possess sensational customer service philosophy
    • Highly organized, results oriented and ability to work in a multi-functional team environment
    • Security clearance required upon offer of employment
