  • Position Summary

    To be an integral member of the team to ensure industry leading customer service and facilities are provided for all residents by performing a wide variety of maintenance projects. To maximize value while realizing cost efficiencies for the property. Schedules of work may be irregular to accommodate operating hours and may include evenings, weekends and holidays.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform plumbing maintenance work orders in the assets as assigned including, but not limited to, attending to drainage issues and faucet and pipe repairs.
    • Perform general maintenance work orders in the assets as assigned including, but not limited to, heating repairs, door repairs, caulking, wall/tile repairs, etc.
    • Identify and rectify any general maintenance issues on the asset (i.e. check all doors for proper operation, wear and tear maintenance requirements, etc.).
    • Assist with the removal and installation of appliances as required.
    • Check and replace lights.
    • Change locks and cut keys as directed.
    • Perform maintenance as required for suite turnovers.
    • .Assist personnel from other Westcorp departments such as renovations, painters, cleaning staff, as required.
    • Assist in snow removal at office and vacant units as required.
    • Track inventory of parts, supplies and small tools.
    • Participate in rotational on-call services.
    • Execute all work in a safe and professional manner.
    • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation guidelines.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Property Manager.

    Required Skills & Abilities

    • High School Graduate.
    • Minimum three years relevant experience required.
    • Post Secondary Education an asset.
    • Extensive knowledge of plumbing required preference will be given to candidates with strong maintenance knowledge in the areas of electrical, carpentry and appliance repairs.
    • Must be available to work extra hours as they may vary for high season, month end turnover and on-call rotations.
    • High level of customer service abilities are a must as Westcorp is a highly service oriented organization.
    • High degree of professionalism and dedication.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication ability, in English.
    • Physically fit, ability to lift, carry or move heavy items.
    • Safety conscience and safety oriented attitude.
    • Must have own tools.Security clearance required upon offer of employment.
    • .Possess sensational customer service philosophy.
    • Must have valid driver’s license and own vehicle for hauling.
    • Highly organized, results oriented and ability to work in a multi-functional team environment.
