Westcorp is looking for an entrepreneurial seasoned professional to fulfill the project manager/owner’s representative function for construction and renovation projectsWorking with the development team, this individual will use their construction knowledge to assist with creating value in alignment with the long-term objectives for the project This strategic leader will excel at managing external stakeholders (consultants, general contractors, contractors, vendors, etc.), and will ensure that projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in alignment with the development vision The scope of work will range from utilizing a general contractor to self-performing.  This role may be contract or permanent, depending on the business needs or the desire of the selected candidate.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Manage construction and provide construction insight and expertise in the pursuit of creating value in development and renovation projects  
  • Manage budgets and costs to ensure that financial objectives are met
  • Oversee scheduling and resources to ensure deadlines are met  
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure scope, budget, and quality expectations are met
  • Provide regular on-site oversight to ensure that projects are constructed in alignment with regulations and owner expectations  
  • Provide regular communication to leadership and project partners to mitigate risks, provide transparency, and capitalize on opportunities to create value
  • Identify potential project risks early and develop strategies to minimize impact 
  • Resolve challenges with a solution-focused approach and facilitate this approach with all other stakeholders   

What You Bring: 

 

Experience & Education: 10–15+ years in construction/project management, ideally in multi-family and commercial real estate.  
Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in project management tools like MS Project, Procore, or similar software. Skilled in knowledge of building codes and best construction practices. 
Project Leadership Skills: Strong budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation expertise, with a proven ability to juggle multiple projects. 
Communication & Relationship Building: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in negotiating contracts and managing external stakeholders in a solution-focused way. 
Analytical & Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to anticipate and resolve construction challenges efficiently and effectively. 
Flexibility & Travel: This role requires up to 30% travel to project sites. A valid driver’s license is required.
