Position Summary:   This key member of the Accounting & Finance Team will be responsible for the financial reporting and accounting administration for a portfolio of properties. The ideal candidate must be determined to learn and develop as an accountant, detail-oriented in everyday work, driven to provide timely and accurate information, able to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, and motivated to provide stakeholders with value-added services and information. The company drives growth and success by developing a strong underlying corporate culture focused on accountability, integrity, teamwork, and discipline in execution.   Key Responsibilities:   - Timely preparation of monthly financial reporting packages for internal and external stakeholders, including working papers, account reconciliations, reviews and adjustments. - Posting and reconciling transactions to tenant sub-ledgers. - Monitor bank accounts and ensure validity of transactions. - Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual government filings. - Collaborate with internal stakeholders to perform monthly variance analysis. - Prepare cash flow forecasts. - Participate in annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes. - Document and maintain financial processes and procedures. - Create and maintain capital project ledgers. - Work with external auditors/accountants for year-end engagements. - Other duties as assigned.   Required Skills and Abilities:   - Completion of an accounting degree/diploma. - Minimum of 2 years of full-cycle accounting experience. - Experience with Yardi is considered an asset. - Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook). - Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. - Exceptional communication ability, written and verbal. - Detail-oriented and acts with precision. - Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - Well organized and capable managing a variety of information from various sources. - Must be flexible, adaptable to changing requirements and solutions minded. - High degree of professionalism and dedication to all stakeholders. - Security clearance required upon offer of employment. - Possess exceptional customer service philosophy. - Highly organized, results oriented and ability to work in a multi-functional team environment.   Working at Westcorp:   Headquartered in Edmonton, Westcorp Property Management Inc. is a vertically integrated company that creates, invests in, and manages residential, commercial, and hotel properties. Property Downtown Marina Kelowna
Job Location CA-BC-Kelowna
Westcorp is seeking a General Manager to join our Downtown Kelowna Marina team. This role will work closely with our Crew Members and liaise between vendors, city officials, regulators and suppliers to collaborate and coordinate our marina operations.   The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the marina operations, including maximizing revenues, marketing, providing exceptional guest services, and establishing an excellent team of crew members to drive our results. Our marina is open from April to October each year. However, this is a full-time position as off-season responsibilities are performed out of our Pandosy corporate office. The role has fluctuating hours and is required to work various shifts throughout the summer months to ensure adequate, 24 hour/7 day a week staffing and coverage in case of emergencies.  This role will start out in a training capacity as the assistant General Manager and will transition into GM by mid-August. The outgoing GM will provide hands on training necessary to for you to hit the ground running. This is a management level role, that is expected to be on-call during the hours of the operation. The salary range for the position is $70,000 - $80,000, with the potential to earn a bonus payment based on revenue and results.   Key Responsibilities: - Responsible for day-to-day operations, such as employee scheduling and labour forecasting. - Work closely with the team to achieve quality-driven goals and provide exceptional levels of guest service. - Provide feedback and solutions for process improvements. Create innovative and unique approaches to business development opportunities and operation issues. - Hire, train, coach and develop an engaged, energized team of seasonal crew members. With a goal of retaining talent season after season. - Manage fleet and inventory to ensure we are operating safe and well-maintained equipment. - Focus on safety standards and apply business processes to ensure all crew members operate within Worksafe BC standards. Manage all health and safety concerns, whether initiated by a crew member or marina patron. Qualifications: - Previous leadership experience and a minimum of five years working in hospitality, customer service, or a team management position  - Education in Hospitality, Hotel Management, or Business Administration would be an asset - 5+ years of financial and leadership experience in a related field - Strong business acumen, financial skills, integrity, and strategic thinking abilities - Must have strong organization, planning, and execution skills - Knowledge of accounting systems, and budget processes - Ability to source data, analyze the results and provide direction and suggestions for change. - Experience using MS Suite of products (SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Excel/Word)  - A high level of empathy and understanding and the ability to personalize your approach to manage a large team of seasonal students.
